I'm here for much the same reason! 
What's up party people? I'm new to Lua and Gideros but have been doing iOS development for quite a while and I have some Android experience. I ran into Gideros in my search for tutorials on Lua programming and have been intrigued ever since. It's nice to see a tool that can be used to develop for both iOS and Android. I really appreciate the lip synch tutorial with papagayo. (I've done a bit with text to speech and voice reco in the past and always love when people find clever things to do with speech and programming.) I'm not sure where I want to go with Gideros yet, I'm just having fun reading the tutorials and examples. I'll probably be flooding the site with questions in the near term. Great to meet you all!
