HTML5 for Android

This isn't really a Gideros question, but could someone give me the lowdown on HTML5 frameworks? There seem to be a number of these but I don't know anything about them. Does it mean that you're creating apps using HTML5, or that they're implemented via HTML5? Are they more suited to certain types of apps? What the's deal? Thanks!

My idea is take some engine that support (work on) android webview. And then you can using android plugin via Gideros (or native android) to build some game /app
About your question, I think they really do game /app on html5 engine, and then export to device and play via mobile webview.
There are a lot of game and app that build on html5 and work well on mobile.
