How to use Gideros player on Android?

Hello,

i have followed all steps documented here http://www.giderosmobile.com/DevCenter/index.php/Deployment#Android_deployment
but after i enter the IP address the play button do not turn green.

i do not think to have done anything wrong, if i export the app in Eclipse IDE the Run command work fine.
any suggestion?

Hi nat,

Can you ping your Android phone? If you cannot ping, open a browser, connect to a webpage and then try again. For some android phones, after some time, wifi goes into sleep mode and you need to wake it up.

Problem understood, i do not have wifi coverage here.
i was wrong expecting it to work via USB connection like Eclipse...

Maybe you can use wifi hotspot feature of your android phone. I know it works with two phones (one with wifi hotspot enabled and other one with gideros player running on it) but I haven't try with one phone.

Finally i do have wifi coverage. i tried again but the player button still do not become green. also ping to the phone do not work, but web navigation and all other wifi related phone functions appear to work fine. any suggestion?

@nat12: I think the PC/MAC and your phone must be on the same wi-fi network to work. If not then you need something like a USB wi-fi dongle to connect your PC/MAC to the wi-fi network.

my PC has not any wifi capability... it is connected with a cable, only the phone is connected with wifi. there is no way to make this configuration work?

Are they both on the same network I.e. PC connected by wire to router & phone connected to router via wi-fi? I think this is the only way to make them work. Otherwise you will have to export the project and build it with eclipse to send it to your phone.

Both the router and the PC are connected to the same NAT, it is this different than to connect also the PC to the router instead of directly to the NAT? i will try
