Hi,I have os lion on my mini mac,I have downloaded xcode 5 and it requires mountain lion.
So If I want to publish my apps to app store and make it available for most of iOS devices,as well as the new versions.
Do I need xcode 5 ,since I imagine the new ipad and iphones would run app created with older versions of xcode.
Thanks.

In my experience, you need to update to xcode 5, for so many reason, including Apple review reason i think.
Thanks, the only reason I did not upgrade because I see so many reviews on how slow it makes the mac.
But at least it is free.
If the mac is only for creating binaries to upload, upgrade to Mavericks, if you find it slow, add some RAM, a SSD and you should be fine. It is a whole different story if the mac is your main machine, because many older softwares do not work very well or could not work with Mavericks.
You will have to move to mavericks if you want to install the ios7 SDK and if you do not install this SDK, you cannot release to the App Store (as per their new requirement)
