Hi Giderosians,
We officially released Gideros Studio 2012.2. Check our following blog:
http://www.giderosmobile.com/blog/2012/02/07/new-shiny-gideros-studio-2012-2-here/Or, see the official press release:
http://www.prweb.com/releases/2012/2/prweb9105288.htmTo be honest, without your feedbacks and bug reports, this release wouldn't be possible. Thank you each and all of you, who made our dream a reality. We had great fun while developing this system and we hope that you'll feel the same as you develop your apps.
For those who haven't seen yet - Gideros Studio is for sale for indies and enterprise companies with indie and professional licenses, respectively. For more information, see Gideros Studio pricing page (

Please twit us, send our link to developers you know, and help us spread the word! Any help appreciated :-)

please clarify "for this version". I understand it that you will remove the ability to publish apps with the free version at one point. When will it come? With the next version?
Cheers
Michael
I have much enjoyed my first few weeks of using it, and I hope you have all the success you desire .
i'm an happy indy licensed user !!!
(i think you already know!)

To clarify.
Don't have it stop working at the end of a year. Allow your users to choose between getting a new license for updates etc or continue with the last version their license allowed them to use. If that makes sense.
Oh and of course congratulations on getting this far. Now to hammer the news out there and make it known.
One other thing. I would like to support you guys right now BUT I am not ready to release anything. I am wondering if there was a way (cant think of one at the moment to ensure you don't get ripped off) to pay but not have the license period itself start until I have released the first app using it. It took me most of my license period to get up to speed with the beer framework only to have everything ripped away just as we started to release our products.

@mykyl66 You're so true, and makes sense. At the end of the year it'll never stop working. A free license is "forever free".
Thanks guys for RT'ing, and spreading the word - this really helps. After all Gideros Studio is a huge effort (SLOC just exceeded 110.000 lines), spanning almost 2 years of very intensive work.
I get: "ERROR: Invalid username. Lost your password? "
But yet I can login to the forum. Why can't I login?
I have absolutely no problems with making money on a product. You are a company and so you need to sell licenses to stay alife. One point that let me look into Gideros was the free version as I know that I can't afford a dime in the next 10 months, maybe 15.
I just wanted to know if you will remove the ability to publish apps from the free version of Gideros in the near future (12-15 months). If you plan to do so, I have no problems with it.
As a user I would just like to see if I should spend my valuable time on a tool that might not be usuable for me at a certain point. Like I told you before. Once I have the money for it, I plan on getting a license. Heck I would still use the free version as i find the splash screen a great way of promoting Gideros. But if you plan on removing the publishing ability, then my efforts could be in danger before I can get a license. Then I would rather not use Gideros, no matter how good it is.
Btw. you can use C*r*na for free too, forever. Just not publish with it. :-) See what I mean?
Cheers
Michael
