IDE - Expansion

I use text expanding tools for commonly used snippets, it is easier and faster, however I noticed that in the IDE, it only results to a series of 'a's I guess that must be due to the fact that the input is constantly being parse for autocomplete. while using the IDE, i also miss the features that I get in a text editor of my choice. Thought that you might want to know of this while you work on the future releases of the IDE. It will be helpful to have some flexibility there.

I agree. We're planning to allow users to choose his/her preferred text editor or Gideros' text editor. btw, which text expanding tool do you use?

I have both Text Expander and Typinator, where as I use Typinator more often. At times Keyboard Maestro is helpful too, but less for expansions.

Yes, I've just tried Typinator and doesn't work as expected. It's better to give support for external editors.

This might sound odd but I like to be able to work on my iPad using ssh and Dropbox text editors like Textastic. It would actually be nice to be able to code on the iPad, switch to an ssh client connected to a desktop with Gideros installed and my project files (that are updated by Dropbox), tell Gideros via command line to compile my project, have it wait for me to switch my iPad to the Gideros Player, send the app to the iPad, and send debugging to the ssh session so I can switch to it after I'm done with the player. Ok, that was wishful thinking but I decided to throw it in.

My favorite text editor on the desktop is BBEdit.
