  You can't do HSL adjustment at the moment, the best you can do is render your font in white and then use the RGB colour modifier to change the colour.
  
  Alternatively you can split off the font border and draw it separately after rendering the font.

  I have written a hsl->rgb->hsl->col->hsl plugin which does all of the maths but as everyone has already stated the only colour shift available to us is the setColorTransform which uses RGBA and as such will transform all colours in the sprite. I knocked together a proof of concept demo using my plugin and got the results I was expecting, but unfortunately not what you require.
