    i don't know if i have understood correctly but with new xcode 4.5
    i must say good-bye to my iPod 2nd-Gen ???
    really ... ? it's crazy...

    please tell me that is not true....

      It's true if your base SDK is set to iOS6.

      @GregBUG I read somewhere about extracting the base SDK from previous Xcode (e.g. 4.3 or 4.4) then place it in the device support folder. I haven't try it yet so I'm not sure if it works.

      I also have a 1st gen iPad, as long as you have minimum iOS 4.3 it will work. So iPad 1 is still supported.

      The only reason to choose iOS6 base SDK is to support the 568px resolution of the iPhone 5, which automatically set your minimum target as iOS 4.3.

      Tried the extract sdk from previous xcode trick - didn't work.

      However, you can download previous xcodes from the apple dev portal as a .dmg - so I copied it to my desktop, renamed it so it didn't clash with v4.5, and hey presto I have a working setup again :)
