There is some code from RedPiston on GitHub
https://github.com/redpiston/CoronaOuyaController/blob/master/OuyaController.lua about a lua module that allows support for Ouya in the Beer SDK. The way it seems (since I do not have access to an Ouya device as yet) is that if we add a listener for key presses (as supported in Android) we should be able to simply get the key presses from the gamepad.
Anyone that has an Ouya here on the forums? Could you confirm this?

If you plug a traditional PS3 controller in to a Windows PC and check the Game Controller devices, you'll see there's at least 10 buttons (abxy, bumpers L1, L2, R1, R2), 2 analog sticks - each with a button press, plus the 8way d-pad.
And now the OUYA controller is the first with a touch pad. It has a single point of touch. http://www.ouya.tv/game-developers-how-to-get-started-on-ouya-now/
FYI ... Here's a dev kit unboxing video by the OUYA team - http://www.geek.com/articles/games/watch-the-ouya-developer-console-unboxing-20121228/
