  can I use application:openURL() to open another application?
  Why is this limited to http:, https:, tel:, or mailto: schemes.

  @zakkwylde no, openUrl is not limited to these protocols and can support all defined custom url schemes.

  on Android however this is done through intents and required much larger changes in the code, thus can probably be done only through plugin
