  Sorry with the late answer. I somehow missed this thread out. Mapview will be included in the next release, together with a few more native UI components (e.g alertbox, textview, keyboard input).
  
  I'm not sure about adding a custom marker or overlays. These may be tricky.

  just a friendly suggestion. If you add a component, support it fully. Your compatition was always adding stuff with not all features supported. At the end they pissed of a lot of their customers. I know that we have plugins. But once you guys add stuff yourself, a 3rd party is less motivated to work on the same with some more features.

  That would be cool but without the custom marker/overlay, it will be pretty much limited in what we can do with it.

  I've worked with iOS's MapKit overlays and it was not simple. Overlays aren't dealt with like a traditional view because the view portion of an overlay isn't suppose to run unless it is on the screen. The call structure seemed very spagetti-like to me. And I could never find a way to confine the scroll/zoom to a certain location. And getting touch events on the map was limited.

  Sorry to re-ignite an old thread...Looking through the Gideros reference guide there doesn't appear to be a MapView implementation yet, is it an undocumented feature or has it just not been added yet?

  Bumping an old thread I know, but having a play with writing an app with gideros atm which needs a mapview, wondered if anyone had made any progress on getting mapview working in an app?

  @Landon, you really need to spend on a Book on iOS development and read up on the iOS API, it is pretty easy to port and use.
