Introducing Jet Splat

Hi, I'm trying to spread the word about my game by doing the whole social (a word I am not famous for) media thing, so if you like what you see please don't keep it to yourself.. I would also love feedback of any kind, does it look appealing and would you spend 2 bucks on it etc. I only have wip videos at the moment so not 100% current but good enough to show the basic idea.

Cool! Is it box2d and Rube? Or custom level editor?

Box2d and Tiled using a heaily modified https://github.com/1dot44mb/gideros/tree/master/tools/TiledAsWorldEditor

Cool! How did you make the tomato to bend when touching the ground?

Yeh thats a little over the top but its 6 box2d circles around a center one that are all connected by joints. The tomato image is a hexagon mesh and I align the vertices to the objects each frame. The idea sort of evolved from not being able to fix the joints breaking when they get hit too hard, so instead of fixing it i destroy the joints and attach tomatoe blobs to each object and kablam! exploded tomato.

The effects stuff is done by hand in flash. Im sort of new at that but check out http://bitey.com thats where i learent what little i know.

How did you do the water effect in your game by the way?

The water is just hand animated then played via moviclip and aligned to the tomato when he hits the water. Its not very acurate and needs polish but sort of works as a hack:)

It also only plays when the downward velocity is fast eneough.

Thanks, yeh if anyone knows good places or people to send it to that would be awesome. Hopefully be ready in the next couple of weeks, although might be doing a soft launch first. I'll definitely post some iOS promo codes (I'm attempting a paid version first) when it's done.
