Hi
@atilim and
@gorkem,
my suggestion is to remove the roadmap completely. Why? If you are unable to stick to it, then it creates more frustration among your users than it helps. Ansca Mobile did the same thing. They posted roadmap after roadmap. Mixed features around. Sometimes it felt like they do this just to keep their users by the campfire. One time their CEO even told me that they lost the roadmap and need to create a new one. ROFL. I still wonder if he believed in his own words.
Users take a roadmap pretty seriously and you are watched that you will deliver. As you are now way off of your own schedule and now start to move features around, it will stir up the heat. Some developers are taking such a list to plan apps and their features based on such a roadmap. Seeing things removed or being put way back is not a postive thing for sure.
Just my 2 cents
Michael

But some kind of roadmap still needs to be, to at least see what other suggestion, features devs decided to include, so it won't be asked again numerous times. Maybe even put some priorities on these features.
On the other hand I don't think that this kind of delay was intentional. When you have such a small team, then any illness counts towards the delay on roadmap. So if luckily everything will go good, then it's probably possible to stick to defined (or now redefined) roadmap.

@ar2rsawseen yes, that wasnt really intentional, however as Mike pointed out, the current method did have some flaws, and need to be fixed one way. What do you also think with Atilim's method?

Personally speaking, I feel a little disappointed for some features are not included in the next major summer version as the roadmap said.
Compared to other game engines, the most advance for gideros is simple to use without losting run efficiency.But on the other hand, some of very essential features is still missed in gideros. To list a few, multiple players,particle engine.
I think these essential features should get high Priority。
By the way,the plugin for android is very great,but the compicated jni stops most people from using it for call java api, a simple example or wrapper the JVM will make most of us happy.

but I have not used it yet.
I prefer a native engine, support some virsual editor sush as paritcle designer.

As for the roadmap - my vote would be to keep it simple and just have the "next" features listed with everything else as "unplanned". A voting system that was open for a set time would allow the community to decide which features they felt were important based on their needs / desires.
Just my $0.02 - FWIW I think what the team has produced so far given their size is nothing short of amazing - keep it up!

@atilim: Wish you all the best for your future and hope you will recover.
@gorkem: To me a roadmap will indicate what will implemented next. If dates are mentioned, people will expect them to be released around that time. But it should only include features that will be released in a short/mid future. If something takes you a year or more to include, then imho it shouldn't be mentioned. Then rather work with a wishlist where people can see what was requested. Or use the forum here only.
Maybe another thing would be to only mention new features for the next version where the development is finished. You could use your blog for that, showing of the new features comming in images and/or video.
Anyway, it is not about what makes me happy, it is about the false expectations the current roadmap was raising. Find something what you think will work the best in your workflow. I just wanted to raise my concern that the current one is more confusion and upsetting than helping in planing apps to be created with Gideros.
Good luck for the future of Gideros!

Why do you think I'm trying to answer any question I can on forum and help other members. I believe this would give @atilim more time to work on more important stuff, like implementing features we need in Gideros

I know you managed to get your silver medal back - but that's only a temporary thing!

Actually there's a lot more power that is provided to me, which I just don't want to brag about. Cause those powers are so awesome, everyone would want them.
I've had my share of awesome powers in the past, I'm content now to just sit back and enjoy the glitter - just remember what Spiderman's uncle told him...
Maybe you should change your username to @ClarkKent
