I would certainly like to see another full featured example template--they are very helpful in picking up Gideros and it's style of programming. On a side note @evs posted a pretty decent makings of a platforming in: http://www.giderosmobile.com/forum/discussion/comment/7241
It was really just an example of using Tiled and Box2D but it has all the elements needed other then scrolling--which is very easy since the whole Tiled Map becomes a sprite anyway heh
But yes I think a platform template would be pretty cool.
There are plenty of great templates on the "beer" sdk site, and although they do vary a LOT in the quality of their lua coding - you can learn a lot by dissecting them. Likewise there are a LOT of templates available online if you want to get an idea of how a particular genre of game works.
From a template perspective, @ar2rsawseen's Game template http://www.giderosmobile.com/forum/discussion/480/gideros-game-template or my own WTF template / lib (beta program opening soon) is all you really need to get started - and even then you these systems just supply boilerplate code to do the mundane stuff allowing you to be more productive on the "fun" stuff
After that you'll learn a LOT more by hacking, breaking and fixing your own code - experimentation, practice (LOT's of practice) and being able to make an honest appraisal of your own work is the best way to progress!
WhiteTree Games - Home, home on the web, where the bits and bytes they do play! #MakeABetterGame! "Never give up, Never NEVER give up!" - Winston Churchill

@SPDApps - that's actually quite a detailed implementation of a much simpler template (a simplified tower defence)

I could use a point'n'click game template (plus an editor for it, to ask for too much). like a simplified 'adventure game studio' which can export to android and ios also.

Would be great to see the platform example

I would like to see a row defense game, but I'll probably end up writing one anyway because I like them a lot
