setting orientation as vertical or horizontal

  Try right clicking on the project's main folder and selecting Properties from the menu that appears. You can set orientation in there. Hope that helps.

  try

  stage:setOrientation(Stage.PORTRAIT)

  should do it. Remember you must change the orientation in the Gideros Player menu also.
