gdrdaemon randomly stops and can't reconnect

OK, so I've written a powerhsell script that starts up the player and connects to the gdrdaemon then polls every 1 second for getlog to get prints from my gideros project.
The problem seems to be that randomly after a few getlog calls, sometimes it's 5 calls, sometimes upwards of 20, apparently the gdrdaemon shuts down and I get the messages that "daemon not running. starting it now on port 15001" and "cannot connect to daemon"
Any idea what might be happening? I also cant seem to really poll getlog at anything less than one second.

When you run gdrbridge, you should see:
