  I think that's the reason that Apple is trying to implement the wireless synch with iTunes and the OTA updates for the new OS

  Ok, I'll give you that one but how about the fact that liquid damage to your iDevice is not covered by Apple's warranty

  Apple store employee's actually have little probes with litmus paper on the end and whenever you take a device in to store if it's faulty or your having a problem with it, the first thing they do is put the probe in the headphone socket and in the charging port to see if there's any trace of water in there. I think there's even a "water" detector in the headphone socket that you can see if you shine a light down it.

  @techdojo, why would anyone use litmus paper to test or the presence of water? Did you mean a blotting paper?

  Ok "litmus" is probably the wrong term - but they used a paper of some sort that reacted to the presence of water and changed colour so even if you tried to dry it out the change to the marker in the device was permanent.
