Hi folks,
a few months ago I started to switch sides a little. I have been drawing a lot and I would like to work more on projects for other people. A few weeks ago I have finished creating some art for a game of
@bowerandy and I think he was quite happy with it.
And these are some concept doodlings:
Anyway, here is the link to a small portfolio of mine:
http://michaelhartlef.carbonmade.com/My rates vary depending on what is needed but I think they are affortable.
It could also be, that I offer my help for free if time and size allows it.
So if you interested, then please drop me a message. I looking forward to it.
Cheers
Michael Hartlef

I'd just like to reaffirm that I'm very happy with the work you've done and I encourage others to get in contact.
If you are interested, here is some of Michael's work as embedded in the game I've been working on. He did all of the character art:
best regards

@bowerandy Consider to misspell the names of racetracks like "Silverstone" to "Silverhedge" etc because these names (and shapes of tracks too.. ) belong to Ecclestone (CEO of F1) as I good remember. See more here:

What you see in the screenshots is only demo stuff. In particular, all references to the following with be removed from the included game tracks before publication:
"The F1 FORMULA 1 logo, F1 logo, F1 FIA FORMULA 1 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP logo, FORMULA 1, FORMULA ONE, F1, FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, GRAND PRIX, F1 GRAND PRIX, FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX and related marks are trademarks of Formula One Licensing BV, a Formula One group company. All rights reserved."
However, I don't believe that F1 can own the track names or layouts. If there is any infringement there I would have thought it would have to be taken up by the track organisations themselves not by Bernie and FOMC. Would it really be in their interest to do this (assuming they have a legal right to do so)?
The Spin Off game is really about the user drawing and labelling up his/her own tracks to play with friends so in this respect they can surely do what they like. There are a few stock tracks built in and I will make sure I remove words like "Grand Prix" (as per the above trademark notice) from these before the game is published.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
best regards
Advice or comment provided here is not and does not purport to be legal advice as defined by s.12 of Legal Services Act 2007
I do know that Silverstone is wholly owned by the British Racing Drivers Club who may have something to say about your use of either the name or the circuit design.
Many of the other circuits are owned and run by various organisations who will assert differing levels of control over the name & image/visual rights to the circuits.
F1 Supremo Bernie Ecclestone and his wife used to own (I'm not sure if they still do) a number of the F1 circuits around the world and he is known for asserting his rights.
Personally, I would be more inclined to use old or obscure tracks as you are less likely to have problems.
Again, organisations such as those linked to here usually do assert their legal rights to stop any chance of brand dilution. They see unauthorised / unlicensed use of their brand as trying to make a market for yourself on the back of their brand. The buying public may associate your product with the real brand thus diluting the brand. If your product is viewed badly, this may harm the brand through it's perceived connection.
I am not a lawyer but have read enough of the legal wranglings about copyright / TM disputes to know how a company may react to unauthorised / unlicensed use of their brand, whether it be a name (which may be trademarked) or a design (which may be copyright) or indeed both.
This post ended up longer than I expected also

I have gotten the permission from @loucsam about the work I did for his upcomming game "Chess Guess". He wanted me to create the chess pieces and the title screen (expect the game board).
It was really great working with Max and I hope to get this opportunity in the future again.

The game is playable at a basic level, some things to fix still, and my main issue is still around knowing how to get the game working aesthetically across different sized screens.
Also I am still thinking about the strategy of how/what to release.
-Basic gameplay -versus- a number of extra features.
-Free -versus- Paid -versus- adverts (free basic, paid extra features)
-tablet version(android) -vs- mobile version(Android)
Too much to think about!!!!
Anyway thankyou for your efforts Mike.

finished some work for @GregBUG and his great game Ratanan. If you want to check it out, it is free to play:

There I created various characters (not the frog) and their animation. Also some powerup icons and the rocket for the frog. I have attached some graphics from it.
If you need artwork done, feel free to contact me.
