  @talis, I quite agree with you, I use eclipse for all my devs: C,Java,PHP, and even as an editor when modifying gideros files, and Android Studio is so slow...

  if we could set permissions of the apk upon exporting to apk directly, then indeed i would not need even android studio to create the final apk of an app.

  I think the direct APK export should not delete the tmp directory. That way the user can tinker with eg the manifest file and rebuild presumably with a single command (gradle?). That way we get all the flexibility without having to use another IDE.
  
  BTW I agree getting rid of Eclipse is a good idea. It is only barely (unofficially) supported for Android anyway now. However, Android Studio seems so slow and heavy, worse than Eclipse. The best solution is to build at the command prompt for all OS's including iOS (xcodebuild), WinRT (msbuild), Android (gradle) etc...

  That doesn't matter - if you export to Android Studio (that has to be installed for apk export to work) instead then you just load in that and tinker to your hearts content.
  
  So no problem deleting the tmp folder.

  Apparently there is a setting to do with how much memory is allocated that will speed things up (I have to do something similar with Eclipse) - not sure what the setting is though.

  I will try some of those out when I get round to building my new game in AS. I'm mostly just impatient with AS because exporting to APK from Gideros Studio is very quick
