what's the practical benefit of GiderosFontCreator??

  This is one of the oldest things in Gideros, and has become somewhat redundant because of TTFont.
  
  Tghat said, because Font uses a bitmap, it's possible to create your own font quite easily, or play around with colours in fonts.

  Yes, it's still quite useful - especially if the font is not allowed to be distributed in tt format (copyright reasons).

  I use BMFont. It's a pain in the rear end to use but it works pretty well once you actually get something exported.
  
  I'd vote to remove Font Creator from the distribution

  I think it is best to keep font creator and texture packer. I know there is better alternatives but at least someone getting gideros for the first time gets a consistent set of tools out of the box. Font creator could be enhanced to create fancy fonts maybe ?

  @hgy29 I thought that GiderosFontCreator is able to generate a font from the atlas from the drawings of letters

  @oleg, Font Creator does the opposite: it creates an atlas of bitmap font characters from a truetype font outline and a set of character codes to use. If you already have the atlas, you just need to write the file that describes where each character is located in your font (.txt)

  @oleg BMFont is kind of tricky to use. It also makes Bitmap Fonts from TTF fonts.
  
  I would totally not remove TexturePacker fro the distribution, it's pretty good but it does need a few quality of life improvements I think
