Hello awesome fellows,
I know it's ridiculous but my imagination made me to write this post lol.
Since Gideros has a mobile app for live testing, will it be possible if the app will be added a functionality that enables us game devs to code our game within the gideros app?
I am not saying that the app should be able to compile a project to apk/exe/web etc, that will be a tedious work to our Gideros devs.
What I am suggesting is that we can code and test and add assets within the mobile version of Gideros, then if we want to export our game to specific platform, the Gideros mobile app will generate a Gideros project that can be opened using the PC version.
Personally, I think that it would be great and handy. I am full time mechanical engineer now and still want to develop a game during my free time at work. I successfully made an app and published to google play using Sketchware but Sketchware is not suitable for game development, and I love Gideros.
Thanks.

so you e.g. upload a project once from your pc and then you can modify it in any editor right on your android device, e.g. droidedit is a nice code editor that has lua support.
of course it would be nice to have a 'run' button within droidedit which just refreshes your project.
i think what would be nice is a modified gideros android player which has a top menu with buttons like 'reload project', 'run new project' etc. as in the current player once you have started a project you need to close the app and rerun it to refresh a project that was modified in droidedit meanwhile.
with samsung tablets and other devices that can show two apps side by side this kind of player plus a code editor would suite perfectly your needs.

The idea was to allow one to include demo versions of games in other games, or making store apps, but this would be a good fit for a player shell too, which could then be coded with Gideros.

even a non-native ui over the game would be good (and make the app think that the screen size is that much smaller so that nothing is under the menu), and this could be made cross-platform easier i guess.
but again, if you implement what you wrote then that's good. Except for apps that do not have a 'quit' button/event implemented, which is the case for a blank app if one starts to make one. so there should be some tricky way to return to the player in this case somehow (ctrl+r could be added for android, but most people do not have a keyboard connected so it would help me but not many others). that's why i think a menu which is always visible is simpler in some sense.

once i used it to teach some coding to my nephew during a holiday when no real computer was around. i used APDE - Android Processing IDE but would have preferred gideros.
